Er ist nicht McSame

Nochmals Joe Lieberman als Vizepräsidentschaftskandidaten zu erleben, und zwar diesmal auf Republikanischer Seite, dürfte fast so unwahrscheinlich sein wie die Wahl von Bob Barr zum nächsten Präsidenten.

Ezra Klein liefert trotz allem einige treffende Argumente für Lieberman als "running mate":

Flip the coin, though, and you get the warm feelings for Lieberman, the product of his repeated kicks at the Democratic Party. For conservatives, Lieberman's acts of apostasy were so total, so commendable, that this "Independent Democrat" who continues to vote for Harry Reid as majority leader can actually strengthen McCain among Republicans uncertain of McCain’s fealty to their faith.(...)

Hey, und eine TV-Debatte zwischen Joe Biden und Joe Lieberman, wie einer der Kommentatoren bemerkt, wäre wirklich interessant. Oh Holy Joe!

Nun ja, sollte McCain die Wahl gewinnen, rechne ich mit Lieberman als neuem Außenminister.
